You'd have to flush the well at least 4 hours to remove all the sediment caused by the iron bacteria. It does take quite a while to clear the well.ShitTon of iron here.

Do you get that done?But getting the water tested annually is a good idea. Then you only sanitize when it's actually needed.
You really shouldn't use regular bleach in your well, as it isn't NSF rated. Well Safe chlorine kits, or the like, are made for sanitization of drinking water and won't impart any possible contaminants into the water.You use plain, unscented bleach. Usually 5.25 - 6%.
