Congratulations, but where are the chick pictures? :D
I will get some when I get home! I have a couple pics of them in the incubator, but by the time I took them out I was pooped. They are so darn cute when they're all fluffed up. Lots of black and lots of grey, a few chipmunk and that funky chocolate one.

One thing I always forget to do is plant garlic in the fall. You're going to have a lot, that's amazing! I'll bet fresh garlic is the bomb. Do you know what type it is?

I miss growing garlic...my biggest crop was 180 plants.
Just after planting, each stake on the right is the start of a row.
Always hard neck german white, started with my brothers stock,
and kept it going for 14 years.

My garlic is up too! I think I planted 56 cloves, and a bunch of little teeny clov-ettes from two that flowered. I grow Music, and get only four (sometimes five) cloves per, but they are huge! You plant the biggest and eat the rest. The ones in the picture are eaters.

Soft necks but I'm not sure the variety.
I had to order them on eBay as all the local garden centers sold out in something like 3 days because all the doomsdayers went as bonkers for garlic in the fall as they did for chicks in the spring.
A friend of mine makes black garlic. He said he fired up the fermenter to make a batch when I guilted him out for not wishing me happy birthday on my birthday! I'll give him a load of bulbs to ferment for me when I harvest.

Oh, fun! Have you had it before? I've never tried it, but have read about it. I love garlic.

Yes, I've had it! It's fabulous. I used an entire bulb in a Crock-Pot of beef stew once and it really ramped up the flavor.

That's right, I remember you saying that! If I ever find it, I'll have to try it. Are you going to try fermenting yourself when they're ready?
