What is a grownie?
I'm gluten free and I tried to make granola bars, but they were soft. I baked them longer, and they were like over done brownies. So the next time, I left them soft, like a brownie, but renamed them grownies. They're oats, quinoa, apple sauce, mashed banana, other fruit, cocoa, cinnamon, peanut butter, and honey.

Well, it sounds good! Feel free to share your recipe :)

Grownies

2 cups old fashioned oats
3-4 tablespoons cocoa
1-2 tablespoons cinnamon (I like a lot of cinnamon!)

Stir this in a large mixing bowl. Mix in:

2 cups applesauce (my home canned pint is shy of 2 cups, but close enough)
1 cup quinoa cooked in 2 cups of water until most/all the water is absorbed
1 cup natural style (or homemade) peanut butter
1-2 mashed ripe bananas
Any other fruit you want to add (grated carrot is good too; if you juice carrots or fruit, use the pulp)
2 eggs
1/3 (ish) cup honey
Raisins or other dried fruit
Nuts if you like them

Mix very well. Let sit for about an hour, covered, on the counter. Or over night in the fridge. You want the oats to soak up some liquid. Mine is in between cookie dough and cake batter.

Butter a 9x13 pan and bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes. It's done when a toothpick comes out mostly clean, or the edges pull away from the pan. Don't over bake.

Let it cool until you can put your hand on the bottom of the pan. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until cold. Remove the wrap, trying not to let the condensation drip on the grownies. (I blot the drips off.) Cut into pieces and store in the fridge.

These are like moist, somewhat gooey brownies, but not as sweet.

Am suffering from DogLoveDeficit...
...ooing and awwing and leaking a few tears seeing all the pups.

Got the wall down, at least the bottom part. Not too much drama as of yet.
All the adults came in to help watch me take it down.
Only 2 went into the aux run, chicks were freaked at first.
1 hen stayed in there and chsed the chicks a bit.
Have my ear cocked for screaming, sure wish I had some cams.
