Quick job to dump old coop bedding...right.
Until steering linkage on tractor broke.
Luckily can see the part, and have a spare on the parts tractor,
but threads are frozen on both.
Tractor sits on back lawn, unsteerable.
😭

...and I didn't print out that section of the tech manual years ago, and now the CD won't run. <grrrr>

We're waiting for what I refer to as the "annual meeting of the summer tire club" here in Halifax, which always happens on the first day of snowy icy conditions. There are often 50 or so odd fender bender style accidents around the city that day - thankfully most are not serious. I usually avoid going anywhere on those mornings until people have readapted to icy conditions 🤣
It is something to read about what snow and ice does to driving.

We do not have frozen roads in the valley. We have to go up to the mountains for that!

And then when you lose it you get to fall off a very steep slope and die!

Freshly cut or split oak wood has a particular smell to it.
White birch has a particularly sweet smell when it is burning.

The only people who can say the wind IS their friend are wind power farm users and sailors.

Haha. I definitely have a love-hate relationship with wind, being both at the mercy of wind on a day like today and also a sailor when conducting research - we’re often up to 200 miles offshore in a 40ft Valiant sailing vessel.

Good morning Cafe! Thanks for the coffee Shad.

We had a storm pass by last night and it blew my greenhouse to pieces. It was not a terribly expensive one (though still enough). We're going to try and reassemble. The greenhouse survived a number of big winds, so I had been hoping that it would hold.
I hope you're not having to cope with panes of broken glass.
