BYC Café

Was someone in hot pursuit of you? Why on earth would you be vaulting fences on your walk home?
The fence was in the way of my direction of travel. :p It's go over the fence or walk an extra few hundred metres on the "official" pedestrian path. It was wet a raining and I wanted to get home; not walk some urban planners scenic route!

Good afternoon Café!

I brought a big freshly brewed pot, so help yourselves to it. :caf

Here the winds are getting stronger by the hour and more winter storms are predicted to start this late afternoon/evening.
It is really getting old after the two entire weeks of non-stop winter gales with ongoing rains we just experienced. :duc

Had it here yesterday as well. Gusts of 65 mph apparently.

Still not over here, we had 132 kmh and one of our flock-down chicken aviaries got busted with the girls now running all over the place out in the storm... :barnie

We hope to get it repaired tonight before the next winter storm will hit even harder.

How is the coop at the allotments holding up?

Good morning, Cafe. Thanks for the coffee, Tonya!

Seems like a lot going on and I'm not sure where to start. Chickens are laying about a dozen a day and are laying willy nilly about the coop. They've gotten the axe from barn, for now, and apparently do not understand the nest box. Maybe it's too small... maybe they're protesting...

It seems I'm sick again and I never get sick. Now I'm twice in a month. I knew this clean living business would be the death of me :lau

The surgeon I went to to have a cyst cut out of my side did her residency under a pancreatic cancer specialist in Florida. After going through my chart, she wants me to have screenings because of Mom's untimely death. Got the results back the other day: pancreas good, liver good, aorta good, multiple gallstones. Huh?? Just a watch and see for now, I guess!

I decided to start a baked goods Monday at work, just for fun and because this beautiful plate needs to be seen :p Made a German chocolate cake for Pa's birthday on Sunday:

I do believe it's day 25 of no smoking. I'm not paying real close attention to the days, because I knew right away it was over. I've found my self quite a pile of energy in my 180°, but still trying to figure out my focus. Everything is getting a little better, for sure. Knowing that the cravings don't ever seem to go away has helped, I think. At least I know.

Hope everyone's well.

Coop seems okay so far. So much mud holding it down I doubt it will blow away.:D

When I lived in St. Louis, we had a very heavy ice storm, coated everything with a good inch and a half of ice. It was beautiful but deadly slippery. Our next door neighbors were a group of young adults sharing the house. They came out with pick axes and absolutely destroyed the concrete front steps of their house trying to remove the ice. It was awful to watch.
