Be safe up there, DL!

DH did our metal roof. He mounted some eyebolts in/near the peak in several places to tie his safety rope. He's had to go up many times over the years in the winter to shovel snow off the dormer. It has a much shallower pitch, so it doesn't shed snow well.

How big is said dormer and does it NEED to be shoveled??
DH estimated 15x40 feet when I just asked him. I just looked up what snow weighs, and of course it depends on how wet the snow is. But if it's "average," then it's about 15 lbs per cubic foot. We have had 8-12" of snow up there, so enough to need to be shoveled.
