The first caterpillar started up the wall of the habitat one evening so I knew it was ready to form it's chrysalis. But then in the morning it was back on a leaf. It formed it on the underside. I'll have to position this stem such that there are no obstructions under it when it emerges. You can see the third caterpillar on the stem behind the chrysalis. I expect that one to head up tomorrow night.

This one hooked on up on the ceiling like I was hoping the first one would.

This is the late hatcher that came in on some replacement milkweed. It's doubled in size since I brought it home.

I was concerned these guys might emerge when I was away on vacation and my nephew would have to deal with the releases but the three oldest ones should be released before I leave and the last one should form it's chrysalis just before I go and be ready to release after I get back.

This is really fun to watch. I intend to do it again next year.
