BYC Café

The day I buried Rascal, I sat on a bucket by his grave looking down the back field.
I had a vision, not something I ever experienced before.
I swear I very clearly saw all 3 of my dogs dancing together in their healthiest happiest playing postures at the other end of the field. It didn't last more than a minute, if that, but I can still bring back that image and it brings both tears and comfort.
That is beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
:hugs

I finally made the lid for Piper's pen. I cut grooves centered on the bottoms of the 2x3s then screwed them together and screwed a 2x3 so that the gap that she got her leg caught in is blocked. The board acts as a stop for the gate.

I got lucky that the Porta-Potty fits through the gate so I should be able to just reach in to clean and change the pad.

Piper has shown me already that she's not a fan of loud noises. It certainly isn't at a phobia type level but it makes her very concerned. Needless to say she did not like me driving the screws in with the power driver or slamming the staples in with the pneumatic stapler. After she ran into the bedroom four different times and came back out on her own I decided to just lock her in her bed time crate with Bella in the room until I was finished building and cleaning up.
Afterwards she decided she wanted to go get some comfort from big sis! Bella kept licking her.

Job looks a goodun.

In an effort to make sure I have some calories in me before I travel to the allotments (it makes a lot of difference). I'm one of those people that comes with a warning sign, feed me or I get grumpy. I need 3000 calories a day and around 70 grams of protein to keep a decent body weight.

I've been checking out what's quick and easy on the supermarket shelves. I have a microwave which I rarely use and was thinking of something I could chuck in it when I looked for options. The ammount of salt, sugar and preservative type things in these prepacked microwave meals is staggering. I bought tinned stew of various varieties in the end and not only does one not have all that plastic packaging, there isn't anything else but food in the tin with a bit of water. A few minutes on the hob and it's done.

I usually have containors of stuff I've cooked and frozen in the freezer but Christmas etc has wiped my stock out and I'm not in the mood for cooking at the moment.

I know the feeling. So I end up picking at food here and there during the day. It's one of the reasons I'm down 25#.

Oh, my goodness. I love this so so much :love

Good morning Cafe! Thanks for the coffee.

Crunchy around here too - had a lovely drive from Cape Breton down to Halifax this morning.

I'm sorry to hear that @Mtn Margie 🙁 I have avoided Covid thus far (despite being well-exposed at a Cape Breton kitchen party last summer, and likely other places too, though I am careful). Hopefully you escape unscathed from this one!
My Mother in Law lives out toward Peggy's Cove.
