Ok. caps off and keep handy for a cold snap.

What are u thinking of starting under the jugs??
I just pulled my jugs today, but will keep them handy for an other week or so. The plants have big fat buds on them.

Lettuce, cabbage, spinnach... basically any cold weather crops. Then, for grins and giggles, I think I'll do some tomatoes, zucchini, and other squashes. You know how volunteers always come up in the spring. The milk jugs would just keep a nice little micro climate going.

I usually let my volunteers grow. I have okra coming up in my popcorn. Pumpkins and gourds coming up in the potatoes and composter. Sunflowers scattered in other areas including one of the tires. I think birds caused this. Unless they get out of control they get treated as if i planted them.

Quote: Wonderful assortment!!!!!

Sure made me think to ask if you know about companion planting??? I didnt realize til this year that some plants LOVE each other, some HATE each other stunting growth and others help keep pests away from their friends . . .. . . of course my first interest wasy because those that hate each other causes poor production, lol, but soon realized there was more benefits.

Thanks.

I do I read about it about two years ago, I read that garlic keeps peach borers away so I planted some around some of my peach trees, well the ones I planted it around don't have that nasty little bug that gets in the peach and ruins them!

But my apricot I didn't put garlic around has tons of them… Guess I'll be putting garlic around all my stone fruits next year. Yeah it is a very interesting thing
