Does anyone have a plum trees? And if so do you spray them for worms? I have few plum trees, last year one of them had a lot of plums but all of them had worms

I am not a big fan of spraying chemicals on my plants, but maybe you have some home made solutions that really will work on the nasty pests ? I loooooove plums and I would like to eat them this year myself and not to share them with worms

In my area you have to spray if you want any plums .

I grow garlic around mine, thats supposed to keep most bad bugs away, you can also make garlic spray but I haven't had the chance to try that yet.
I had that first year with plums - all dropped . But last year was great -lots of plums but with worms. I will try the garlic potion ,maybe it will work. And maybe I will try buy something organic, for spraying them. Will try different spray on a different trees. I have to spray them if I want any plums darn

That's the thing, that I didn't see any beetle on the tree. Just the little worms inside the plums. I will have to look again this year to figure it out whats eating the plums. It is so frustrating , all the fruit is going to waste. I have 3 plum trees and can't enjoy my delicious plums .

Look for crescent shaped cuts on the plums . That is the entry point of the egg . You seldom find the adult . Once the worm eats on the soft seed the tree aborts the fruit . The purpose for the tree is to reproduce .

Husband and I are buying weed screen for the garden this week, and once we can get the tiller from his grandfather we're tilling and then laying down the screen so the seeds don't sprout from the weeds. From there we'll just cut out openings for the various plants and plant like normal, maybe cover the remaining screen with mulch. Progress is being made in the container garden, got more soil for the pots and herb starts are being hardened off.
