We just put in a new raised bed and I used the bedding and droppings as the first layer under the new dirt. Hopefully I haven't gone too crazy with gardens and chickens.

I don't think you can go to "crazy" with chickens and gardens! lol

So tell me, how can you have gardens and chickens in direct contact with each other and yet not have your garden destroyed?? My chickens love greens and would totally destroy my garden! I've never done it so I was just wondering.

Block it off until they get big enough that they wont damage it....or give them their own garden :0) I plan to have raised beds this year and putting some netting around it for awhile....then I dont mind to share but I will plant them their own garden to peck at too. I know they love cabbage..lol

Is pumpkin okay for chickens? (Like the insides of one)

I'm putting 5 raised beds in now, and I did this also.
