Does anyone have a suggestion for online or catalog seed ordering? Or is it cheaper to grab packets at the store? Any sales or specials you take advantage of? Any tips or tricks for buying seeds is much appreciated!
Farm stores often have seeds in bulk at a lower cost . Bargain seed packs are sometimes last years seed . Still good to grow . Save your own seed . Grow seed out of grocery store produce . You may get a surprise but usually edible . I buy a pound of seed at a time at a seed and hardware store . Turnip and radish mostly . They were selling at $8.00 a pound . Deer hunters buy them for food plots . Seed is good for several years . Otherwise they are like $1.90 a ounce in bulk . Here is another trick . If you buy tomato , pepper or petunia plants take cuttings to root . You can double or triple your number of plants and not lose much time . Buy the first plants they sell early . I chose for side shoots but topping a single stem works .
