I tried it with corn once, worked really well (especially since the ones I put in the ground rotted)Oh cool
Myself and one other BYC buddy start seeds like that. Works well for tons of things!

Sent it this way! Will the eaves of your house offer enough protection on the leeward side? Elevate if needed!So, does anyone want some rain? We have plenty to spare!
On a more serious note, we got fencing for the garden today to keep the neighbors chooks out. But now I'm concerned that the rain will kill the seedlings if we put them outside. Is there something I can use to protect them? We have almost 500, we can't bring them in and out after storms.
Can you hang a tarp above them? Depending on what you've got, if the direct rain isn't a problem, you could just raise them on something so that the water drains from them. It will wash away nutrients, but if you fertilize when you plant them, it shouldn't be an issue.

@Peep_Show
that's terrible! I hope they bounce back.
I'm almost ready to start planting- I think next weekend I'll be ready. Hopefully my pumpkins aren't super tangled in the pot and transplant well. M cerry tomatoes are now about 2 inches tall. Do you think they could survive outside now?
