I was like maybe I should label stuff...naaa I got it.....obviously not lol
I do that, I tried rooting plums and cherries but put them next to each other and didn't label, well one out of like 10 cuttings took and now I don't know if its a plum or cherry cause the leaves are almost the same

Just plain old shop lights.
ok. that is cheaper than thegrow lights. THank you!

Re the lighting system, I know you can buy more expensive tubes, advertised with special qualities, but regular shop lights work fine to provide an abundance of light for plant starts. We rigged ours on chains so that we could start them down close to the containers and move them up gradually. I'd post a photo, but that system is down until next year. The plants came up strong.
lol why spend more than necessary , right?? Will remember the chain for next year if I can scrounge something free.

I wish this was all from my garden lol. But the basil is. Yummy little leaves. Mmmmm

yup. That is why I am trying to label more; still only got half of stuff labeled.

Prune 'em, Chick. They're just calling out to be organized. Rosey,I've also got unidentifiable things growing where I planted something else.

I plan on pruning them but was waiting for the ground to dry out a little bit. I hope the drier ground will stabilize them so I can get a better look.

I did that when starting my plants indoors. Still don't if it's yellow summer squash or zucchini down there. It's mystery vegetable time!! Maybe it should be our new gameshow!

I need bigger cages... Or determanate varieties...
You know, if someone designed an affordable cage that would actually stand up to the NEEDS of a tomato plant, they'd make a tidy fortune. My go-to solution for tomatoes is cattle panel. It is indestructable, only requires staking to keep it where you want it. 2 panels placed parallel will give you 16' of tomato trellis 50" high. The only draw back is that it's a beast to transport. The last time I bought panels, I forgot to stake them down in the bed of the truck, and they blew out and went rolling down the highway like a giant tumbleweed. Good thing there was no traffic from either direction. I could have killed someone! I think I've finally figured out how to secure them from that incident!

Labels? Bread tabs. Can be written on with sharpies, then they are a cinch to clip onto those flimsy, worthless tomato cages... or the cattle panels. I have both in my garden right now. Need to get the cages staked before the plants put on some serious size.

OK what plant?
I did some weeding today, and discovered some cabbage seedlings. I knew they were there, but they just kind of disappeared!

I always put my tomatoes by my garden fence and let them take off.

Oh cool!

You need drop lines and to prune to single stem if you are growing in a green house. It would save a ton of room and be much easier to manage.

Determinant varities hardly compare to inditerminates as far as produciton or taste IMO. The only determinates I grow are sauce/paste type tomatoes.
