Cool Dan

Very exciting as that's another perennial food crop up here in the cold white north

I actually have hostas growing in my edible frontyard landscaping for just this reason, along with sweet potato vine, marigolds and dianthus (all edible and beautiful). I have not yet harvested any because the plants are young.

Hennible have you tired them?

Not yet, just found out about it. It's the shoots that are usually eaten because the older leaves get bitter.

Very cool
Do you know which lillies are edible?

Got Indigo Rose and Black Sea Man tomatoes coming in! I really need to thin out the foliage, there's just too much and nothing is getting light. My fault for ignoring the plants and being a lazy gardener.

Also finally properly measured the field (486 sq ft) and drew a blueprint for 2016. I have to cut back the amount of onions I have planned but that's no problem. I should be able to grow enough for the whole year! In addition, I have an upstairs container garden that measures about 300 sq feet where I'll have bush beans, flowers, and other container plants so I'll actually have a huge harvest if I can do what i want to accomplish. The trick will be moving the raised beds down into the main field, each one is about 4x4 ft and a ton of soil. I plan on moving the soil and THEN moving the bed frames.

Anyone else already planning for 2016?

I think this is the first year I've actually logged events in the garden and begun plans for next year. Up until now, I didn't have a very good overview of what's going on out there. I already know a bunch of ways I can improve it.

Every season, about half way through I see how I can set it all up better... I was taking notes this year, I stoped when the plants took off, I wish I had kept writing stuff down! Like when plants flowered... Ahg... next year.

@hennible Ugh I know! I was really lazy this year, didn't desucker the tomatoes, didn't write much down (took plenty of photos though so I at least got that), and on top of everything else let the field get really weed-infested and gross. Can't be doing that next year.
