I am growing sweet potatoes. We didn't plant them until early July. I don't know how much I will get from them. And the fact my goats ate ask the vegetation on the to off three times, I am a little worried. I am letting them grow for as long as they can. I just hope I get something from them. But with the first frost right around the corner, we will see.

Good luck

I didn't get my sweet potatoes into the ground until July and just harvested them today. Put in 9 starts in a 4x4 bed. Next year I'll dig deeper as a bunch of them formed weird knots, probably from hitting the dense sand at the base of the beds. Some of the tubers are HUGE!

I have been trying for the past few months. I tried starting one from seed. Didn't ever grow. Except lots of mold... then I did my next two from the store. Both were half dead when I bought them.
Now I am doing a pitcher plant from seed. It just sent up a shoot this week! I am really excited about it.
That sucks about the Venus Fly Traps. Hope the pitcher plants grow better.

I've had my bouts with raspberrys from season to season. getting poked, trellising nightmares etc... I finally found a trellis system that works for me. I put T post's and wired a wire mesh panel at the highest point, Just push new shoots threw and adjust the old ones as they grow, this year the vines are on top of my grape trellis I'd say their 12/13' long

And it makes the bird netting easy to work with also.

Can you give a bit more details? How tall are the T posts? What is the wire mesh? I assume that you have a row of T posts on either side of the raspberries, with the wire mesh enclosing the row? How tall is the wire mesh. I need to get mine contained. They were laying on the ground last season, what a mess. I lost 2/3 of the crop.
