Alright, I'm going to head to my genetics research lab (LOL) and figure out a couple things there...thinking of adding tail shape as a gene so that you can see what would happen if you crossed a 35 decree tail with a full blown 10 in long tail

I think these are fantastic ideas! I don't know if you two looked at that python genetic calculator I linked on this thread, but what they do is use a real picture of the animal if they have one and a drawing if they don't.
If we use real pictures of parent birds and proven crosses (As in the owner knows with 100% certainty what the cross is) then we can significantly cut down the workload for the illustrators. It also provides a great opportunity to get certain color varieties for purebred parent birds without having to color more bases to provide for it.
The pictures will have to be crisp and very clear, with no people in the photo though. The bird should take up the whole space.
