I'm wondering, since I don't have the SOP, should I be instead looking for the genetics behind the colors? I stumbled on some while looking up other info.

maybe I can start a spreadsheet for that specifically, with what Cyprus already has?

Yes, do that. I actually want color genetics on a different spreadsheet.
Organize it however you want, just make sure you cover base color, lacing, barring, Sex Linkage etc. As well as what is dominant, recessive, co dominant, allelic, etc.

I thought columbian was controlled by one gene, so could have lots of bases or whatever you call it.

It is, but a chicken with a duckwing extension of black could also posses a columbian gene

Yup correct. The slate legs is only on black Cubalayas, just so you know Cyrus.
