Actually we talked about content of a thread encouraging a badge award.
I used to rate the quality of my posts using the old ovation award. I tried to keep it so that one of every 3.25 posts had an ovation . it helped me keep the quality of my post higher. unfortunately , I can't do that with the new Trophy award system because it Awards larger chunks of work than the everyday post Ovation did. However, I still keep an eye on the posts to try to make them the best I can. it's just a different world now.

I used to check my Ovations daily. Divide the number of posts by total Ovations. I didn't let the ratio get above 4. Usually it ran about 3.25-3.75.
That way I knew generally that about every 3.5 posts was generating an ovation. It was a very general way for me to track there quality of my posts since I try to write non-fiction and don't hang out on the "just for fun "threads.

How could you control how many you got?
And back then, certain members ovations were weighted more heavily than others.
But I guess it doesn't really matter now anyway.

I didn't control them. Just tried to write enough quality so they showed up at that ratio. I wasn't creating the results, just following them.
