Do not think I made myself clear on my post every alert is now coded as reacted can we take likes back to just liked so they look different than the reply

This is true. If I look at whiz-bangs on Amazon, all of a sudden every site I go to suddenly shows me whiz-bangs of all kinds, colors and price ranges. The same goes if I talk about something within hearing range of my phone. :barnie
Big brother is watching. ;)

Not every post is liked now, so it says reacted instead. I personally don't see a difference, but I wasn't really paying attention too much before. I think some stuff you just gotta accept.

I don't see what is so confusing. The alerts still specify which reaction was used, if it was Like or if it was something else. Replied to and quoted are still different words from reacted, so I don't see how there is any ambiguity in the alerts that could cause confusion.

Click on your user name in the top bar. Click on Preferences in the drop down menu. Go down through the lists and uncheck anything that you don't want to get an alert for such as Reacts to your message, etc. When you have your preferences set the way you want them, click on Save at the bottom of the page.

Like I said, the alert specifies which reaction was used.

React is quicker than an actual reply. It is a one click acknowledgement. But now we can acknowledge a post with reactions other than 'like'...for example, if someone mentions that their road is in really bad shape after the storm, I can react with 'sad'. It would seem inappropriate to 'like' that. If I have anything to add, such as helpful advice or detailed commiseration, I'll reply.
