I think you can also start conversations with just yourself now, like for notes and stuff.

Huge thanks to all the developers! I really enjoy this forum and have learned so much, plus enjoyable social interaction. This is easily one of the most courteous and helpful forums I’ve ever been part of. So yeah, thanks!!!

One reservaction. The reaction choices: from what I’m reading, it sounds like people can get negative reaction points for a negative reaction. I was glad to see the variety of responses because many of us use the like button to simply say, “You have been heard.” When someone posts something like, “I lost my whole flock last night,” We still click “like” to communicate that we’ve read the post and then go on to express sympathy or, if we don’t know the person, maybe just leave it at that since there’s only one response and everyone knows it.

So now, if I respond with a frown or an angry face (directed at the predator)? Does that saddle the poster with negative points? I personally don’t pay any attention to points, but reading this thread, I realize that not everyone feels this way. So, what are the rules? What do the various responses mean on BYC? I would love to have all of them give exactly the same result in points, but I realize the software has its parameters that aren’t always easy or possible to change. I just don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. Thanks!

No reactions are negative in point value, meaning that they can't take away from someone's reaction score. The ones like "Sad" and "Angry" are neutral, meaning that they don't add to the reaction score, but they don't take away from it either. They leave it unchanged.

I am not. Running Firefox on a Linux OS.
Which flavor and version are you running currently? (I'm testing the waters still on a few) preparing to fade our house in the next year or two?(fingers crossed) my learning curve is still a bit steep.
