CACKLE CACKLE CACKLE HORRIFIC HORRIFIC CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM OWNER

This is why I have sold a bunch to my local feed store. I have been filling in between major hatchery orders.

So, let me get this straight: If any of us sign for our unwanted Cackle orders, we are "accepting delivery" and will be charged? I might just ask Animal Control to sign for mine!
(I'm kidding.)

Can you believe that?? They have us by the eggs here... If we sign we have to pay... if we don't sign those chicks will probably be dead. We have no choice! Geesh... Nothing like using our kindness against us.. that cheeses me off!

I'm going to try to keep on calling but I haven't even received an automated email and am very concerned.

I question that. I don't know about the rest of you, but I haven't had to sign for my chicks, just pick them up (delivery confirmation doesn't require a signature). It is my understanding, that unsolicited items 'delivered' to you are yours to keep. In other words, Kirby couldn't send you a vacuum cleaner, and when it arrives at your house and you open the box, you are now OBLIGATED to buy it.

If the order has been canceled, and there is written documentation to confirm that, then the delivery is unsolicited, and any charge to your credit card should be disputed. I would think it likely the customer would win the dispute.

I'm no authority, however, just have a small business with merchant accounts, so have a little idea how those things work.

Ya I was going to go to cackle because of them being a "family business" but then I decided to go with Ideal (which I loved) because of some threads about cackle not getting back in touch with you.

I have 29 amazing birds that I got from Meyer. They are out of the brooder & in my coop. And, I am STILL dealing with my Cackle headache. For instance, I sent them a certified letter 10 days ago & have yet to receive a delivery confirmation. I am suspecting that they have not accepted delivery. Arghhh!!!
(Sorry to highjack this thread & vent.)

Wonder if you notified the credit card company at the time you cancelled- explained what you did -phones repeatedly busy, email not returned. The credit card's bank could contact them and maybe no unwanted chicks would be sent when they knew they would not be paid. Keystonepaul
