California Blue

This is a California Blue from Dunlap Hatchery. (½ barred rock, ½ white leghorn) It is exactly 16 weeks old. Do these saddle feathers absolutely, 100% mean it is a cockerel? it is the only one I have, so no others to compare it to.

Sorry, but yes. Hens don't have saddle feathers. A few breeds/strains are "hen feathered", where the male does not have saddle feathers, but the reverse is never true.

Its ok…its not his fault. Poor little guy. So far he has been very friendly, non- aggressive and quiet. If he stays that way I can keep him. If not…..well, you know.
