Thanks! Me asking for a plastic thing to help keep rain out of my nest boxes wasn't doing it
For the depot workers. Ha ha! :-)

Thanks for keeping this bamboo discussion going for me. I was somewhat "indisposed" last night and all day today. I'm in the over (well over

) 50 catagory and was having an (*ahem*

) procedure done today that required "prepping" yesterday. I'm sure any of you nearing, in or with family in that decade can guess my predicament. So I only managed a bit of forum hopping and getting one box of eggs packed for the NYD hatch since last night. But I'm back with doctor's orders to take the rest of the day easy. Does that give me free rein to do nothing but mess around on the internet?

DH is outside right now securing the new pen so our new duckies can move in tomorrow. Photos of their beautiful little selves to follow! (And Ron, you can leave all mention of the procedure out of the daily digest! I would make it my life's goal to figure out where you live!

My silly Kitten LOVEs the Christmas tree....
1f63b.png
Adorable kitten Molly and cute picture. I used to have a big black tom that climbed our Christmas tree and brought the whole thing down to the ground. At the time my finances were very tight (single mom and all). I had found a Christmas ornament that I LOVED at Nut Tree (shows you how long ago that was). It cost $12 and it took me forever to decide to spend that much money for something frivalous. I did buy it and of course Bubba broke it when he knocked the tree down. It was a glass reindeer and one of it's legs broke off. I still put that ornament on my tree every year. Each year when I unwrap it, I think of my poor old Bubba.

The power is on today and I have discovered a benefit of living close to the Yolo County Jail(prison--there are a couple hundred there)! Since they really want the power to be on there, are area is a priority!

I used to live in a neighborhood that had a registered "medical device" person. They had a medical device to get them alive and it needed power to run (I'm sure they had battery backup). I used to like picturing someone in an iron lung in their living room
lol.png
Anyway, remember about ten years ago when they were doing rolling power outages by your region code printed on your bill? My neighborhood was exempt! Sorry for the disability whoever you were, but thanks!

Anyone on here who could repost the plastic thing to help keep water out of nest boxes? I'm at Home Depot and can't find the post searching on my phone. :-)
Well, I'm sure you found it by now, but they sell it on the big rolls by the in store carpet that is sold by the foot.

Can you all tell I'm making up for lost chatting time from when I was "indisposed"? (Lay off Ron

Deb, I hope they gave you some of those good Twilight meds that gives you a days amnesia. If so, write down a quick not to read todays digest tomorrow to see what you "forgot"

Deb - that prepping is awful. I have the extreme pleasure of getting to do it every 5 years due to family history. (thanks family) Had my first one at 35. I did the liquid and never again - that stuff is nasty. Next time I'm going for the pills. Glad it's done for you.

I don't think there's a snowball's chance in you-know-where of her not going broody again. She's raised 2 clutches this year. I'm hopeful she'll take a break for a while though.
