I am hopelessly behind on this thread... too many things that I wanted to comment on.

Jason, congrats on the house!

To the cute GSD person- congrats on the baby!

Amy- Amazing egg pic. I always feel lucky to just get to see an egg getting laid, but you actually got a photo!

Ron- hope you get those blue eggers. Have you been to the Davis Western Feed? Do they have King feeds?

To whomever it was- way back- that said they were getting fish meal- I want some! Is it being delivered to Redding? I'd like a whole bag if the price is $70.

I get a few eggs like that. I think they come from my mixed flock.. They are really cool looking..:)

Hi all, Life is crazy here. Kids home on break, I am enjoying vacation time but now I am down with that darn cold. YUCK :( I am in need of advice. Hawks are attacking my chickens. Two attacks yesterday, one this morning, went in the chicken run and killed two. The flew up to T.S. in auburn and bought 2 plastic owls. do i need more? or what else is better that works. then more sad news, @ Miss Molly, a raccoon killed 4 chickens. 1 lav hen and rlbw, and a black roo are the lucky ones. the RLBW i named the sisiters, they would sit at the edge when i open the door and then fly on my shoulders and sit and i could walk around with them on me. ash and brooke thought i was crazy, oh well. they are teens, LOL. my is making chicken coops for me while he is home and they got through the dog run we had attached to the coop. :( I am so sad I miss the sisters. the ones left are ok. scared today but ok. trap time for the raccoon. what to do about the hawks :(

I'm so sorry, that is awful. It seems like a lot of us have been having predator problems. I got my husband a new gun For Christmas ....he put the scope on it yesterday and is going to target practice today..h
He is getting ready for the next sneak attack ...
