California - Northern

I had their phone number, but they don't answer it and don't return VM's. Have your local post office call them, they will bring your birds up to the Customer Pick-up window. You just go in the main door where people go to mail packages and stuff and they will have your birds there. They've also told me if you go after hours (5pm), you just go to the bulk window and ring the bell, you can still pick up your birds.

This is them.

I will try calling them on Monday.

Is this actually the sorting center for all the mail that comes to the foothills?

When I had the last batch delivered up here they sat a day in Sac. I tried to get my local post office to tell me where to go to get them, they said I couldn't. They said nobody was allowed into the sorting center, and they didn't have a pickup window and it wasn't a post office...

When I was talking with my local post office about future deliveries they seemed to think it would take an extra day to get them from the sorting center to any of the Sac post offices, which was what I was trying to avoid... However, if this takes a day off the delivery time I will give the sender this address for next year - and go down an pick up the babies!

Quote: Yes, this is where they go directly from the airport.....................the place is HUGE.

ETA - they do have a regular window there, pickup/dropoff packages, buy stamps, etc. That is where they bring your birds from the sort center. The pickup window is just carved into the side of the warehouse. When they go through their back door, they are in the warehouse. It sometimes takes an hour or so for them to locate your birds when they are called, but I've picked up birds there now about 5 times. It always saves 24 hours in the boxes for me, and usually lives.

Ron- hope you get those blue eggers. Have you been to the Davis Western Feed? Do they have King feeds?

To whomever it was- way back- that said they were getting fish meal- I want some! Is it being delivered to Redding? I'd like a whole bag if the price is $70.
I went to Western Feed in Davis today. They were out of the King Feed Natural Soy Free Kings Feed, but they will have it back in on Thursday. They are going to get in a bag of Natural Starter too.

They have Scratch and Peck Organic Non Soy Layer there. $27.00 for 40 #s.

It is a nice little store.

COOPER12 your new place looks alot like mine. Trees in the back, snow on the ground.
Lots of trees. It is still considered the foothills but getting close to the mountains.
I am sure there will be more snow. It has snowed 4 times there already this winter.
Most has been 3 " but it is not that uncommon to get a foot or more.

Now to just find a spot for my chickens

NYD Hatch? If so, what is the contest number? I will vote for yours instead of Sally Sunshine. She is already a shoe in for the best hatch participant...She must have at least 25% of the posts on there.
