Very fanciful!

Congratulations Jason!

Beautiful birds Molly. The hens remind me of an oversized, poorly marked campine, LOL The roo is beautiful! I don't get a lot of variety with the campines, since the roos are hen feathered.

Deb, Jaerhorns are about the same size as a Campine. really cool breed. very hardy and lay a good number of eggs
I like the Bresse! Do they lay eggs yet?
He looks very nice too. Can he see the pullets?
How long have you had them? I was looking into these as white egg layers and was wondering how well they lay after the first year?

th
I always want them when I see pictures of nice chickens like this.
Ron. I want some too. was going to try the Crele patterned Flame Jaerhorn from Sandhill as well if I ever get around to it. short on spending cash for a month. Have to wait to buy my fridge a month or two so the other one will be plugged around the corner.

Eric asked me last night what I had planned for today, told him "nothing set in stone". Change of plans at 7:20. I have my first ever pip! Not sure if the one next to it is rocking or if it's just my inability to hold the light still. So excited I filled the dog bowl with hot water-twice.

How do I work on my broody room and watch eggs at the same time?

I hatched SG Dorking eggs that had two roos as daddies. The Ameracauna was removed from the pen two weeks before she started collecting the eggs. I got two EEs and one SG Dorking from that hatch. I have looked it up and no, the eggs do not work that way. There is an organ in the ova duct that collects the sperm. As the egg is leutinized, it passes by the organ and is fertilized. If there is more than one roo, the sperm mixes up in that organ and stays active for three weeks or so. What happens is one egg is layed and then a new egg pops into the channel. There are from 3 to 5 in various stages in each cycle, then the hen takes a break and the cycle starts again.

Either they did not understand or were given wrong information.
I agree.

OMG I must have one of those girls. They are so darn adorable!

They are adorable. I love mine too :love I am going to start a test hatch in a couple of days. These will be their first chicks. I can't wait to see what I get. That is what I like about the BLRWs, you have the possibility of getting 3 colors when breeding blue x blue :clap Here are my 3 hens and 2 roosters~
Wow! Love these!
