Personally I let them be unless they are drawing blood. They have to work out pecking order somehow. Mine figured it out with little bloodshed and now every minds their Ps and Qs. Honestly my worst issue was having roosters being rough with hens. They are permanently penned up until further notice (they were bought as pets which makes offing them off limits).
Zooweemama, Debs-flock, and Chiqitua,x 2....................and I don't worry about them drawing a little blood, unless it's too bad.
Thank you very much for your replies! Today, I started to feel quite desperate trying to figure out what to do, and decided to ask on the thread. I am glad that I did! I will give it a good try tomorrow morning, and am really hoping that they will settle their differences without seriously hurting each other. Yes, there is plenty of space for the looser to escape to. This was the first time in my life which I have witnessed a rooster fight, and was quite an unpleasant experience. So sad that they can be so vicious towards each other...
Great news!!! I talked the hubby into buying me a real incubator that I don't have to geek out on all the time! Woohoo!! Now to do the bator shopping!!! I have no idea what to get for quail and an occasional Silkie.
Well stay here........ because we need you here!
