I do not wash eggs I sell, but I don't sell eggs which are very dirty. I can usually flick off any dirt with a fingernail, or use a dry paper towel. I do not refrigerate, either. I do not ask my customers - I don't have very many - their preference. I do explain why they aren't washed.

One customer looked at me kinda funny and replied "Well, I don't eat the SHELLS."

I knew about not washing but is it better to not refrigerate too?

When you buy the small bubble wrap. What width do you buy. I want to make it as easy and cost effective as possible. Thank you so much.
I have not shipped eggs so don't have an answer for you on what width to buy. I have a 12 in wide roll that I use to ship kid's hair accessories that I sell on eBay.

I just took a section (mine is perforated every 12 in so it is a 12 x 12 in piece), folded it in half and wrapped a Marans egg with it. It ended up having almost 2 in. at each end and wrapped around the egg almost 2 times so 4 layers of bubble wrap.

It looks like I will be having a really good hatch....every single egg has pipped. It was getting crowded, so I quickly took out the chicks that had fluffed up and grabbed a bunch of eggs shells out too. Already there are some more zipping, by the time I got back from settling these chicks to the brooder. Lots of girls in this bunch so far:)

What do you do in the industry? I feel like we are mommies expecting babies at the same time.

Woo Hoo! Just moved the girls out of the house and into the coop! I couldn't take it anymore, so out they go. Yes, I maybe um need to finish some details on the coop, but at least peace has been restored in the house.
Now I guess I get to stay up all night worrying about how they do their first night outside. Eek. Is it wrong to sleep outside next to the coop?

I am a terrible mommy, trying to cook my babies!

I work for a broker, sell and work on business insurance, such as Liability and Workers' Compensation. I also do all the rest too, health, life, home, auto, etc. I used to work in SF for the big guys, but I like it in Roseville with the littler guys better. Less stress!

But clearly I missed some stress in my life because I decided to try my hand at hatching chickens! Will I ever learn?

It looks like a great weekend for sleeping outside!

They will be fine! Highs near 90 with a low of about 60. Piece of Cake!
