Around here the kids all dress in full whites and all the details, ie. hat must be worn properly or folded over belt, if you have belt loops, you must have a belt and so on.

We always tell the kids, you get into that auction ring and that old farmer is going to look at you. His thought will be "I had to wear all whites!"

Yep...that's what our kids have to do too. I think the whites add an additional level to the look. If you are able to avoid getting sheep snot and poop on those white pants it's WORTH another point or two. I am a stain magnet. I don't think I ever placed in showmanship unless it was DL in a class of 5 or something. By high school I focused on my breeding flock of sheep and saved myself the grooming headaches.

I think showmanship is great I just never had the attention to detail skills necessary to do a good job

Quote: They totally slick shear here in market, so nothing but a bath involved. I can remember my son getting dinged in rabbit showmanship at Round-up (pre-fair) his first year. He was dinged for having dirty hands, he had run directly from sheep showmanship to rabbit. Since it was pre-fair his lamb hadn't been shorn or bathed.

He did both sheep and hog showmanship and did "okay". But small animal, he was unbeatable since he was in dog, rabbit, cavy & poultry projects. The only one he didn't participate in was pygmy goat. If you already do dog and sheep, you pretty automatically have that other than knowledge questions.

Everyone else that takes lovely pictures I don't mean to exclude you, I just can't remember everyone that takes stunning pictures.

Ooh ooh! I totally will, thanks! Shoot which two photos should I enter? You guys can help me choose since if one wins we will all have to look at it for a month.

The thread will be closed after a certain number of entries and then finalists will be picked. We will then vote for the 12 that make it into the calendar.

Zoweemama had a picture make it into the calendar last year--It was June.

We had a lazy Sunday and decided to hang out on the back lawn and let the flock out to free range. They had never been out that long and LOVED it! Here's the hubs with the only other girls he's allowed to have over. Cuckoo, Olive and Babs. Olive and Bab's are the new layers. Ellie has figured out that she's safe from the roos up on "daddy's" back. They tried typing a few times and wanted to play. The double yolker. The OE first egg. Is that a blood spot?
I have two girls exactly like the one on your hubby's back. Are they Easter Eggers? I am waiting for those pretty blue eggs, not green, blue. Please tell me I will have the blue eggs.
