Sorry. Im getting used to this new keybord! the Verizon auto correct is not as amusing as the straight google one.

That could work ron. But I wont have frizzle eggs then. These were freakazoids chicks. I might have silkies. But I might not as I think all my hens laying and not might be broodie. Rabid little girls!

Hey guys! How's everyone been?

Our flock is doing well. Still waiting for our EE to lay and one of the hatchery wyandottes.

Guess what we got!? Two goats, and they're both pregnant! Ahhhhh, it's true what they say, it's ALL the chicken's fault!

This is funny! We are arranging a hatch for @tommysgirl

I think I need to visit incubators anonymous.....

We could hatch Bresse for NYD and then the Frizzles later. I briefly saw a post for a meat cross from @juststruttin that sounded amazing too.

Goat Cheese!

That is great to hear. Thanks for checking in. Are the chickens showing signs of being ready to lay eggs yet?

Sorry about loosing all those chicks, I hate skunks!

I have also seen the feed stores/hatcheries time and time again sell one bird and call it another breed... The don't know any better it seems. I was amazed at the size of the Buff Orpingtons at the show here - the rooster was huge!

Chickee's EEs are really nice, and they lay a nice blue or light greenish egg. If I was looking for Buff AMs I would snatch hers up, but I am being good...
Thanks, ChickNmamma.... I was awful. And to make things worse, the skunk didn't even eat them. It just killed them and dragged them under our shed. I could see the bodies but could not get to them. I had to be reminded for the next 4 -6 weeks because the smell was awful. I now have heavier 1" square welded wire all the way around where it got in and haven't had any problems since.

As for the feed store, the guy who sold them to me did not seem very experienced with chicks and didn't seem very sure which ones were which. I should have waited until the owner was there, but the ones I ended up with have been good hens so no big loss.. I did learn a lesson though!

I gad to put tgem in a covered cage cause they were climbing out. One is still climbing on the top of the dog kennel upside down. They are circus kittens I say.

Mmmm. The wyandotte has had a red comb and wattles for awhile now. She's the same as age as the other hatchery wyandtotte who's being laying for like a month or two. The EE has a dark pinkish comb.

Wait…another breed for me to add ?!?

Oh so cute chiqita!! I'm glad my DH isn't coming with me to get the chicks. He's a sucker for kittens. We'd end up taking a couple if it were up to him.

That thread does NOT help you stop ... and you have a good reason to "fall off the wagon"

I bet if you mentioned you were looking for LF Frizzles (Cochin maybe) somebody would "enable" you a bit...

That meat cross sounds neat - I had to go look up the father bird - Pretty!

Yes, the really sad part is all the skunk wants is the brains - which they remove through the birds ears the same way they eat the eggs. The birds don't make any fuss at all so the darn skunk can go from one bird to the next. Sickening - and a waste. If they ate one chicken they would be full - but we lost all but one of our young birds the same way (I think it was 14 birds?). Not under the coop, but on the floor of the coop... just awful! Which is why I put up roosts high enough that only an acrobat can get to them (or a flying bird) and why I am so worried about some of the just moved birds who insist on sleeping outside on the ground in the run instead of in the coop with the older birds. I am glad you solved your problem by blocking it so it can't get in.
