ok so i have 4 pens with pullets about to lay anytime now, i heard the egg song coming from their side of the yard. I run out there and no egg? do they practice the egg song? and if they do this how long till they lay? funny chickens!

Mine practiced the egg song a day before the first egg one time. She sang it 4 or more times on a Sunday with no egg. She laid her first egg on Monday while I was at work.

What a silly Girl!

Yesterday my pen with 3 Partridge Penedesenca pullets and one wheaten produced 3 eggs. Two of them were impressively dark.

This was the first one:



I did not get a picture of the other one but will tonight. The speckles look almost black!

its best to have a few people to put it up and stretch it. I do mine myself do to lack of help but it looks better if you have some hands
