Maybe put some bluKote on it. Do you think more attention from the roo might re-open it? Would a hen saddle cover it? :/
I will have to look into hen saddles for her. Yes, I'm worried about him making it worse:( when we let them out this morning I noticed and threw him out into the big yard. I think I'm going to just keep him away from the girls as much as I can. :(

I don't know if this is a good way to teach that lesson because it stirs bad images...but...my 15 yr old Grand daughter asked "do you need a rooster for Dazzle to give you eggs" I got that question answered by asking her " do you need a guy to have a "cycle" issue" she said no but that's different... And ended up explaining how and why the "cycle" happens. Lol
Great answer! That's how I explain it. My husband had someone ask him this and he had to explain it to them. I was glad to hear he's been listening to me all this time. Who knew??

Ok Craigslist responder, my ad says TEXT or EMAIL, but instead, you decide to call repeatedly at 7:15 am?!
Oh sorry, That was me. I realize I was late. How is 5:15 am tomorrow?

Just kidding. Did you put your number on there? You can make it where they can't see your real email or phone number.

Here is one of my Modern Game Bantam and her babies, lol.

Oh My!!! that is too cute! I was just wondering if a hen would take chicks and ducks together. what a great mama!

I have had people from your area looking for dark egg gene boys in the past. Do you have a picture of how dark his egg clutch was? I remember it was impressive. I bet he can find a home on cl thats a real home.

I actually forgot to photograph that shipment of eggs, but did take one of the previous batch, from the same breeder -- and i'll certainly try on craiglist before the feedstore, just thought i'd ask here first!

Okay on a good note 2 of my 3 eggs are fertile and so far growing the 3rd egg is quite porus so i dont see any veining yet.
Secondly one of the eggs looks weird the yolk is either huge or it almost looks scrambled. the embryo has veins in it but why does it look scrambled

Shoot. I sold my Bantam BLRW pullet this past weekend.

Haven't been a huge fan of the bantam Wyandottes. They seem kind of nervous and skittish to me. Not at all like my LF Wyandotte. I wonder if it's like the teeny designer dogs they make sometimes. It's like the smaller they are, the more nervous. I don't have much experience with bantams, but are they usually just as friendly as the big variety? Maybe mine just didn't like me. My other bantam (a Cochin) isn't as friendly as my standard Cochin either.

I only have six bantams, and have never had large fowl, so don't have anything to compare to. But mine don't seem too nervous. Rosie (buff brahma bantam) doesn't like taking treats from my hand as much as the others, and Mary and Edith (easter egger bantams) are a little harder to catch when out scratching in the garden, but they all let me hold them and pet them (once I've picked them up).

How cute! Two of my girls have tried to go broody, but I haven't let them hatch or adopt any babies yet.

One of my brahma girls gets the most attention from the rooster and I saw today she's got a pretty bad wound on one side

I don't know what I'm going to do. I didn't see it looks like its a few days old. The rain has kept me from looking over them too much. Today I went out to observe. Her wing covers part if it. It's starting to heal so I don't know if I should clean it?
If you have Vetericyn, put that on it. You want to separate her until she heals if it's a bad wound. If she appears to be in pain, you can crush up 1/4 aspirin in 1 cup of water.

I had a pullet once hook herself on a nail and tore a big V flap in her leg. She was unable to walk. I treated her and gave her aspirin water and she healed beautifully. She was back to walking in a few days. They can heal well from bad wounds.
