That egg is too funny you have to preserve it. It's so cute!

Congratulations! You are always so generous with your knowledge. We thank you and are so glad you got noticed!

X2 Ron. I love inquisitive minds. They help us all learn so much by sharing what they've learned.
Question regarding orchard sprays and chickens. We have a friend whose best (almost only) spot for her coop and run is rather close to an orchard. Probably 50 feet from the nearest tree. It's almonds so a fungicide will be sprayed yearly, maybe 2x per year? Also harvest is dusty.

Any thoughts? Is this too dangerous to keep healthy chickens?

.My pens are right next to the fence line & that is an 8.2 acres of almonds. I have no problems.

Aww...man! I know how much you were looking forward to getting that silky. Why can;t people just follow thru. Even if she changed her mind or already placed them she could have at least let you know!

Thanks and guess what she messaged me back!! I am not getting my hopes up again yet but still I am glad she got back in touch. She only can get on line via her phone so says she didn't see my messages on FB. I asked her for her phone # and gave her mine hope that facilitates things.

Get an exhibition quality Cochin bantam frizzle, so that I can see some pretty pictures of one every once in a while. I have an odd fascination with them, lately.
I am getting hatching eggs from a gal in Chico at some point so I will be sharing lots o pics. Hope you still are fascinated by then

So with all the talk of vibration problems I am considering pulling my clanky turner and using a book 3/4 times daily on the next hatch. How thick of a book?

I will def have to go grab the ziplock tubs for water . My hatch have been so frustrating I might as well continuing to experiment right?

@ronott1 That is great. I didn't know there was an educator badge but if anyone deserves one it is you! You bend over backwards to help anyone and everyone. Thanks!

Note to self,

Never trust Silkies to find their way back to their coop while free-ranging in heavy downpour.

I had to drag in 12 soaked, grumpy birdies.
