I kon thw I would have to be more vigilant but we already are pretty good at the rooster shuffle.  Kim Riley is the one with the birds.  I don't know her BYC name but she is going to be at Karen's party.   I won't be there but was hoping to avoid the PO and have some one sort of close bring them this way but if that doesn't work there is always a plan b c or d

Oh im not against her birds. But his were Psych against other boys . They wiuld coo to me and then try and commit murder on the other boys.

ah hah she and I have communicated before about OEG and I have seen her post! I wanted LF but she had just Bantam. She said she may bring a chick basket to me at the party but I need someone to shuttle them to me or at least get them closer. If that doesn't work then I will take a chance with hatching eggs.

Speaking of LF I tossed the sloshy egg and smashed it in a baggie first. watery dark green almost black and a dead embryo. Glad I tossed it.

Speaking of Bantams at the feed store they have silkies I may be compelled to give a couple to Jamie Lee to go along with her Del babies.

the good news!
Celerys eggs are all hatching, she has 5 babies under her right now and the suckers are FAST. SHe is clearly responding to the peeping  and is not waiting for whistles, and the ducks seem to like her and crawled back under immediatly. 

I will look and see if the rest look ok tonight if they are safely internally pipped or what.  She is a FIERCE momma she bit and HUNG ON  when I counted beaks. I'm going to have an impressive briuse, shes not like her  biological mother Stuffing at all!

The bad news is my first sitting muscovys eggs are going off! I have thrown out 5 stinkers now and she asspolded one. With the clears  i pulled her  nest is rapidly decreasing. I'm worried she will have nothing to hatch! I threw away about 4 of Pumpkins duck eggs as well ( shipped) . what could be contaminating all the duck eggs? funny sitting?

So.....I got the big wooden box to convert to a brooder. It is much taller than needed (like 4'). What would be the ideal height for a box brooder?
