California - Northern

Hey guys, I'm new here but I'd like to say I live in martinez If anyone knows where that is!

You made it over here!

Welcome! The thread goes very fast but we have a very helpful and active group here.

Martinez is a nice place.

Well, I didn't make it to Trader Joe's but I did find someone locally with fertile eggs. I got a mix of different breeds but they're all purebred, and all for $15 so I'm happy. I got:
5 Black Copper Marans
5 Welsummer
2 mixed color Marans
1 Olive Egger
1 Amerucana
2 Black Tail Japanese Bantams

And tomorrow morning I'm going to Trader Joe's to get fertile eggs as I didn't have time to get there this evening. How long do the refrigerated eggs need to sit on the counter for before they can be set in an incubator?

They have to sit long enough to come to room temperature. Give them a good 12 hours at least.

Just called and they said they get the new eggs every morning, so they should be plenty fresh even if I were to pick them up today. We'll see...It's hard for me to leave the house in the mornings so it's probably best that I go tonight.
The lady who I was going to buy the Silver Penciled Rocks from doesn't have enough eggs for me(she only has 2) so now I don't know what else I'm going to hatch :(
Sounds like you already got some, but I was going to mention that Papa's Poultry has been running egg specials on his facebook, some pretty nice breeds as low as a dollar an egg.

I also broke down and ordered the little bitty Brinsea Advance.

The feed store down here in concord will have the buttercups in June
