So i hage a problem. i found an egg that had been pecked opeb and eaten how do i stop this

Make sure that they have free choice oyster shell and that they are getting enough protein. Collect the eggs as soon as possible after they are laid.

Many people are having this issue with Isbars, so it's likely not anything you are doing.  Greenfire stated that their original pair were too closely related, and they were experiencing mortality issues.  They have since imported a new line apparently.

If anyone ever has contact with someone trying to scam them on BYC, please report them immediately!

There is no way the issues from the isbars were from being too closely related.... I swear people pull stuff out of their butt.

I have popcorn in my Genesis!!!!

The Cots are hatching and, like before with the BobWhites there were none last night at bedtime and 17 out this morning at 7:00 AM. There are 39 eggs that made it to lockdown, but it is so hard to see anything with the spotted eggs.

Magpies were hit hard by West Nile. There are not very many any more and some sub species are thought to be extinct now.

They are a pest for those growing nuts.

I have Delawares and Dorkings hatching Two more to go!

LOL!! I remember that part, but though you had done it with reqular food coloring before. Thanks! If I use it will wear a mask. Do you know who is doing it? Could be those Scrub Jays... BCollie doesn't have extra pens though and her Tolbunt just started laying again so we son;t want to freak her out by moving her. Oxine is only online in cali that I have . It is less toxic then bleach but you are always more careful of new things. Most household cleaners would never pass the standards of today.

Me too!!! I grew up in San Jose. I moved here to the foothills in 1977. About twenty years ago I was taking a walk on my break at work. All of a sudden I heard that familiar trill of songs and stopped dead in my tracks. When I turned around there was a mockingbird singing it's heart out. The only one I've ever seen up here, but I sure do miss them. It must have been off path.

I was so thrilled when we first moved out here & I heard the first one that I would stop & count his songs each time.
