Let them come to room temperature and then give them to the broody.

She should be able to hatch them fine.
Thanks She has them now

Wow, they cancelled school? Ours are still open.

Good luck with your broody hatch!
roads were closed, creeks were flooding, hillsides were coming down. There was concern about the winds but they never materialized. Anyway I think 3 of the 4 districts in the county closed.

The storm went right over you too!

Clear lake is going up amazingly fast too.

Sounds awful.

The creeks up here are nearing capacity. We've had almost 3 inches of rain so far.

It has been quite a day. I've seen water gather in areas i have not seen before, so I was busy regardless of my preparedness earlier this week. 4.5" here in the past 24 hours. It is coming hard again now.

A huge rain cell is hitting Union City now and headed towards Sacramento. It will be a lot of rain!

That would be fabulous!! I'll have to message you their current location privately. Would you be able to rustle up a box or crate or something to transport them in? I sure appreciate this offer!
I have them now they appear to be someones lost backyard flock.

The same here. I dug a trench today from the opening of the run to my compost pile lake because the water was so deep in front of the door that the chickens didn't want to go through it. The backyard lake is 4-5 in deep in some places and the bottom is clay mud. It's enough to almost pull the boots off my feet when I walk through it.

Our empty creak is running well but nothings overflowing. My mum in novato had almost a foot in the area outside the house they moved all the cars but its gone now.

FYI - I found a fantastic product to finally kill the mites that I've been battling for months. I even wrote a review, here:

https://www.backyardchickens.com/products/elector-psp-premise-spray-8-oz/reviews/9496

I don't think many people know about it because the retailers are all advertising it with the old label, as a premise spray only.

I thought I would tell you all about it, in case any of you are having trouble with other products not working, like I was.
