Same story here. I got rid of all but three of my adults and one of those is a Marans hen that is molting and hasn't laid for at least two months. But I do have some Marans pullets and some olive eggers and four blue egg layers that are just starting to lay. Kern

I am seeing some molting. The big slow down with eggs happens in mid October though.

Am getting three or four pullet eggs a day from two wheaten Ameraucanas and two EE crossed with Legbars and from Olive Eggers. In about a month I should have lots of eggs. Kern

yeah the october will be light related more than molt.

I got 5 eggs yesterday from the 7 available layers and my blue egg layer seems to be returning to form.

Im wondering if last years watermelon and cantaloupe binge they got helped the egg production. They got lots last summer but very little this year.

Ive started adding Cayenne Pepper to the mash mix and started feeding them more mash (was feeding dry pellets for a while because I was so busy) Ive also heard tumeric is good for them.

How much should I add to about 4 cups of mash (2 cups dry food)

Make sure it is really turmeric--some in the spice section of the store may not be all turmeric.

I would add a teaspoon or so to 4 cups. One person added a bottle to 5 pounds of mash along with cayenne pepper and some other spices.

Some of the forage cakes have turmeric in them.

I put turmeric in my birds' wet mash 2 or 3 times/week. Starwest Botanicals is my favorite herb company and I buy several of their products from amazon.
