Cheryl I am looking for a rescue dog that is good with kids! He does look lean. Does he have problems with his digestive system? One of my last dogs had problem digesting food and he was always thin.

On a very sad note. I am now facing the same situation that you, Cheryl, faced a short while ago. One of my neighbors has complained and I have received a second notice about my roos. The city says that if they get a third complaint that they will come out to investigate and could take my boys away if they find the complaint to be true. I have someone for my ameraucana roo but I still need a home for my gorgeous roo Clark that I got from Anna Raven. I should post a recent pic since he is even more magnificent than he was the last time I posted. When you see the pic you will understand why I am so upset! I'm willing to sell him and two of his girls for a very reasonable price but there is a catch. I would like to get some fertile eggs once or twice a year from whoever takes the trio. I am totally addicted to these creamy marans eggs (although some folks can't tell a difference I sure can!) and need to be able to get a few new pullets each year. I prefer to hatch the eggs myself, that way I can be sure to hatch only the darkest eggs.

PM me if you are interested! Thanks, ~Sunny

hey sunny, sorry about the roos, it really sucks big time, that maran roo you have is one of my hatches, is it a black copper, I can't remember?

I have 4 people that have contacted me about Max, still not sure who is serious or not and if they would be a good match for max, hope to get that figured out today and I'll let you know

He doesn't have any digestive problems, really nothing is wrong with him, he is totally healthy perfect. Just that Sharon's husband Jeff has only been feeding him 1 small scoop twice a day and he should be getting 2 large scoops twice a day. That's been corrected so he's on his way to being a more healthy weight!

Yes Clark is one of your BCMs with the perfect amount of feathering on his legs. You should see him now, he is absolutely magnificent! Better than I had hoped for. It so stinks that I have to give him up after getting so lucky but you, of course, know exactly how that feels.

Thank you for updating me on Max's health. When I saw how many people wanted him on the Bay Area thread I realized that he was going to have his pick of great homes! Whoever gets him will be very lucky! I love labs and have owned a few over the last 40 years. They are one of the best breeds around. Thanks again and I wish you, your friend and Max the best!

Edited to let you know that I saw your post on the Bay Area thread and was very happy to see that he's gone to a great home!

I took a few pictures today, nobody wanted to hold still so they're all a bit blurry.

Neville in all his rooish glory, he's around 6 months old now and acting like it. His hormones are raging and he pounces on everything in sight.

Alice was the only girl who stopped moving long enough for me to get a somewhat decent shot.

We had a few visitors in the yard today, they actually held still and let me take a few quick shots, unlike the dummy chickens.

This giant waterbird was high up in the trees, the chickens made so much noise until he flew off. It's a Black Crowned Night Heron but it sorta looked like a weird penguin to me.

And a butterfly was enjoying all of the blooms on our citrus trees right now, I was able to get really close.

I've gotten a strange assortment of eggs lately, giant ones, normal ones and teeny tiny ones.

Finally, my latest broody is sitting on 8 special eggs, that I think I mentioned before. They are Dun Sumatra eggs. The rooster is Dun colored, the hens are Black and Blue. The resulting offspring will be Dun, Black, Blue or possibly Platinum colored. I am VERY excited about these eggs and I hope, hope, hope that I at least get a couple to hatch.

They were shipped, so there's no telling how they will do. My other broody sat on shipped eggs though and had a pretty good hatch rate. SO we'll see.

The Dun gene looks chocolate colored, however genetically it is different from the actual Chocolate gene (Choc). The Dun gene is not sex linked and it works similarly to the Blue gene (Bl). Dun and Blue are both Black diluters. With Blue, having 1 copy of the gene will give you a visually Blue bird, having 2 copies of the gene will give you a visually Splash bird. With Dun, having 1 copy of the gene will give you a visually Dun bird, having 2 copies of the gene will give you a visually Khaki bird. The Dun gene and the Blue gene can work together and "double dilute" a Black bird, the resulting color then is Platinum, bird with 1 copy of the Blue gene and 1 copy of the Dun gene.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaanyways... here's a few pictures of the parent birds that my eggs came from. You can see the rooster is a lovely chocolate color. Depending on what I get to hatch from these eggs, I've got a couple projects in mind using the Dun gene.

<<Dear Friends,

Somewhere, there is Someone who is looking for property just like the property we have for sale here in Sonoma County, California.

We would deeply appreciate your help in finding that Someone. Even if you personally don't know that Someone, it is very likely that a friend of yours knows a person who does know the Someone who will fall in love with this special land.

Please forward this email to your friends, and ask them to send it on and ask their friends to forward it so hopefully we can find the person who is looking for us.

We have just finished a website that gives information about the property and has lots of pretty pictures.

The web address is http://www.bvhome.blogspot.com

Thank you so much for your help.

Sincerely,
Martin McClure>>
