I thought that was what you meant. Either that or the Kung Fu Panda(Pablo Sandoval-Giants Third Baseman--Go Giants!) was going to hit chicken egg home runs?

i did not think of the Panda lol... though I did see a Bobcat yesterday ( Thankfully nowhere by my place )

Deb this load from Sand Hill will be full but I think I want to get more chicks from Sand Hill in spring. I may place another order in December for April or May shipment hopefully

if anyone wants in let me know. 25 chick min. total order. ( Most i can get of what I want is 10 ) may take a few more of something else too
I'll send them an email, not that I hold out a lot of hope of getting a response. I ordered the original chicks last May, finally got a gox of 20 chicks (one live), got another box of 22 chicks, this time only 3 dead. Out of the 25 chicks I ordered, I received 15 chicks that I ordered and two filler birds.

Of course, the two breeds I wanted in particular, I only got one of each, not a lot of help.

Waiting to hear if she accepted them....
I gave Buffy the other 2 chicks last night, but she was VERY irritated. Both of the roosts and some poop trays had fallen down earlier. In the caos, her water and feeder managed to spill on her and her nest.............Soooo, she wasn't a happy momma. She was pecking and biting my gloved hand as I lifted her to put the other babies under her chest. I couldn't see in the dark to tell if she kept pecking. I went to bed thinking she might have pecked the babies (thinking it was ME).

This morning was a relief to see one of the chicks at her side and hear peeping. (And-I didn't see any dead chicks laying around) I didn't dare lift her up to see if all 3 were OK. But, I did push her nestbox under the board, set up a waterer and feeder and screen off the area from the other chickens. I promise to let you know if Buffy adopted all 3 of the babies - as soon as I know! I can't wait to take pictures of the little family.

Ok, wish me luck LOL. I'm going to try to process 4 cockerels this morning. So far I've only manage 1 at a time...hope I can do it. I at least have to get through the 3 cockerels named "Chicken", "Noodle" and "Soup". They are getting too randy and my hens and pullets will be much happier without them.

ahhh I am so angry.

I saw my silkie roo out in the pasture when he was suppose to be in the barn today. I went out to get him and my neighbors tan pitbull dog is stalking him the grass! It ran back when it saw me but I am livid. Got the .45 loaded and ready for when I need it.

Good luck!

Here is a trick, Do them two at a time. This is especially important with the scalding. If they cool down, the feathers will be hard to pull out.

Let us know how it goes!

My Dad had a Colt 45 replica pistol set with the quick draw holster. One year during Dove season, some hunters were on our property without permission. Dad strapped on the gun belt and jumped onto the tractor. When we got to the place where the hunters were, they started arguing with him! He pulled out the pistol said "I hope we aren't going to have any trouble now?" They said "No Sir" and left promptly. Those things look like canons!

I hope you get the dog before it gets more of you Chickens.
