ebay has an auction for 6+ Silver Appleyards. The seller is in PA.
Enabler! LOL Celtic Oaks on here (BYC) sells them. I am getting some from her when I decide to get some. I am sooooo close to wanting to get some too. :D I eventually want to get some Welsh Harlequin from Holderreads too. I have to pace myself because I will not build a new coop to accommodate more ducks and my pond is not large, it does percolate but is fed by a water line we have to pay for. So I am trying to keep waste and water cost in to consideration. I don't want to have more than 20-25 (max) ducks really at a time. So it will take me a few years to get down to most all WH and all SA - or just one breed. Depends on how we decide as we scoot along. We have 14 now. I would really like to re-home our Pekin trio and my Buff trio. So that would give me room for 6 more. hehe

I think I am balancing my duck/chicken math pretty well. I'm trying anyway! LOL

Zooweemama,
I have some CL crosses welsummer, wyandotte, rock, 1 mos old (not sure what their eggs will do, just made them for fun). We have a guest staying with us that lives in Redding, works in Yuba City with my husband. Not sure if he'd transposrt chicks. However it they appeal to you, I'd ask him.

With shipped eggs you almost never get a 100% hatch. That is rare for local hatching eggs. You should probably get a dozen.....
Yup, 50% is considered good with shipped eggs.

I got 13 from Trisha in Redding. Even with the trip just from Redding (1 day) - I had 2 clears and 2 blood rings. 9 are good to go for hatching on Wed/Thurs.

In the spring I got some eggs from the other side of the US. They were packed excellently, but the box was crushed in on the sides. I only got 5 to hatch out of 15 eggs. This is what the box looked like when I got it. I think I was lucky to get 5 to hatch.

Let me know when. I can fit 6 right now.

For sure. I would def get a dozen. You figure in the hatch rate plus my odds of getting more females than males...LOL They aren't cheap when you buy the good stuff. :D That shipping kills!

I have a few Olive Egger / Barnie eggs available if anyone wants em. I have 6 ready to ship today. FREE. Just pay for shipping. The only thing I ask in return is photos!!! I am dying to see how these chicks turn out. I have my first batch hatching in a couple of days.
ahhh so tempting. I want the pene x cream legbar olive eggers but that is all I can handle.
