Quote: I'm pretty sure the label on Calf Manna says 1oz per bird per day (don't quote me LOL). I just started using it and feed it like scratch or a treat. If I mix it in the feed...they pick through the regular food to get just the Calf Manna. It's too soon to tell any results from the added nutrition. I do notice the birds that eat too much of it at one time have red poops from the red coloring of the pellets. They eat it like "chicken crack" .

Has anyone used Calf Manna as a supplement?

I started feeding it to my chickens about a month or so ago. You feed them 1 tablespoon per bird or 5- 10% of their ration.

Since they are molting, I can't say how they are doing on it, yet. I have been feeding it to my pigs ever since I've had them and my sow has exceptional fertility and some of the largest litters for the breed. I also fed it to a rescued horse, a decade ago. She wasn't supposed to make it, but she turned out healthy and lively.

I definitely think it's great stuff. It's been around for a very long time.

Good morning! I've been up for 2 hours already. Just can't get adjusted to the time change!

GOOD morning, I feel great and from the sound of things so do my yard birds. A lot of information on feed supplements and very helpful for this new egg. Modesto Milling for around here has a pretty good offering of seeds and grains and mixes, I'm looking for additives for my feed and scratch. I'm really looking forward to having a bunch of fat & happy chicks.
