I saw them too but it looked like more ganders and they did not guarantee gender. I am not sure if George would be happy if I brought 3 more males and I think I would not like it either when that time of yr comes. They were sure cute!

Mine are very people oriented as they imprinted (bonded) to us as goslings. They are a medium size. They are great for alerting to anything/anyone new coming on to the property. They do have a tendency, at times, to be loud so you need understanding neighbors. :)

Well hubby is looking at incubators that can take goose eggs. I am very interested and am learning more about them.

Update from the Crazy H-Bar Ranch and Rehabilitation Center: Wow, did we get a lot of work done at the Ranch these last 2 days. We are in the process of removing the palm tree in the back...Almost all the palm fronds are cut down. Had to stop stop because we filled our trash can and the neighbors, and waiting to ask a 3rd neighbor for their can... So today we collected 3 eggs first thing this morning.... We took a dozen with us for everyone in the Dentist office. Got home and picked up egg's number 4, 5, and 6.... Thank you girls, Good Job. I decided today would be a good day to let the flock free range in our garden, so my son and I conducted a mini-cattle drive and moved the everyone into the garden. I think they loved it, but Mrs. Crazy H, wasn't as enthusiastic because they nibbled quite a bit of what's left in the garden. So as we were cleaning up the tree mess my son checks the large coop....BAZINGA, egg #7. WOOO HOOO, we finally broke the 6 egg mark. All of the ranch hands are eggcited. Now that it was time to wrangle the flock back into the run, my son pops his head into the small coop, and WOOO Nilly, he pulls out #8 egg of the day... Wow, we didn't expect anymore eggs today... With all the work and chores done for the day, and now relaxing watching some TV... Mrs. H Bar, storms into the Cave, holding a beautiful chocolate brown egg....Yuup, that's right...#9.....Now we are Eggstatic.... Gotta go, it's time for supper...as they say on the Ranch. Be good humans everybody..See ya!

Hi Peeps! Anyone in the Norco area have an EE hen that they want to rehome? She can be 1, 2, 3, yrs old just has to be laying eggs and preferably blue or green. I have a friend in Palos Verdes that would LOVE one.... I will be in Norco on Jan. 11th. :fl

hmm, I'm in the Palos Verdes area and I usually have started stock if your friend is interested, including a variety of blue, green, olive and brown egg layers - standard and mixed breeds.

So what is going on chicken wise in your life?
We got our incubators set up and hopefully today will get 20 or so barn yard eggs for hatching from our friend. I am also in contact with a person in my area for Dark Maran eggs. It will leave a couple of slots in my incubator and I am trying to find out if I can get some heritage quality Bar rock eggs to fill up that space.
When DH picks up the eggs he will also see how the gander is doing. The chicken coop and run are still under construction but the 5 chickens and rooster in the back yard seem to be fine with their make shift housing. We had 3 Buff Orpingtons, one barn yard and a Black Australop lay some eggs. We bought them as rehomes from a military family. Hopefully these girls will give us a couple of eggs until the new crop of layers is ready.
