Call duck eggs day 26 getting worried

Thank you for replying your actually my life line at the moment. Should I wait till this evening to make a safe hole or do it now? Would you go in and make them in all or only if they look like this one? This was another one compared to the last pic? This must of happened over night? So not too long?
They are shipped eggs... calls are so rare here I couldn’t find any adults or ducklings to buy and it was what she set her heart on? But also believe they are supposed to be good bread lines too x

Okay, shipped and good lines could definitely mean they need help. If you hold them up to your ear and gently tap them, do they peep or do you hear little clicking noises? Both would be a sign they are internally pipped.

I would go ahead and do the safety hole on any you think are internally pipped. It won't hurt them.

Ok great I’ll
Check them all again and make the decision if I think they have. I’ll practice on a fridge egg first but all all the stuff at hand anyway thank you x

Omg so I could hear tapping when I listened so I made a safe hole in that one... that took some work and so scary... is this the right size? I checked the others and still movement in 4 more but not sure if internally pipped as no tapping and looks like pressing on the membrane to get into the air sac? So left for the moment ? X

Just so I can research... if no more progress by tomorrow day 28? In way of starting to break through to externally pip? Is that when you make the hole slightly bigger to make sure not shrink wrapped?

I would say yes, but take things very slowly. If you widen the pip, the internal membrane will need to be moistened with Vaseline or coconut oil or the like. Rub a thin coat all over the membrane (careful, especially around the eyes and nostrils) Make sure the membrane is open well enough for the duckling to breathe. If it looks like it is yawning, it needs more time. So just be patient. Don't ever pull it from the egg. Let it do that on its own when it is ready.

Read Pyxis' article on assisting before proceeding.

Ok thank you not planning on today but if get to tomorrow and I think it still looks like it’s pushing against the membrane I’ll try... so scared but don’t want to lose them either if I can help them. How long can they be like that trying to get through before it’s too long? X
