Call Ducks Finally Hatched

Ok here's something interesting, someone is telling me that they are going to use there Cochin Hen to hatch out some Call duck eggs.  HUMMM, I don't see how this will work.  A cochin can not sponge or mist the eggs nor will it sit for 26 days, there breaking period is 21?  What are your guys opinion on this?

This person is telling me that her friends have been doing it this way...  I think someone maybe fibbing?

I have heard of several people using broody hens to hatch out their call ducks. You didn't mist Sassy did you? I think most would sit the extra few days. Even when my parrot eggs don't hatch the hens still sit for at least another week. I have 1 that does not even have a mate but still lays eggs and sits on them until I finally take then away 1 by 1. Otherwise I don't know that she'd ever come out of the nest box. I seriously need to find her an appropriate mate

Hm guess people just label them whatever they want to. They looked just like some advertised as Australian spotted. Guess that person didn't know what they were talking about! See this is why I love you guys. Lol

The lighter spotted can be hard to tell apart from the snowy at first glance. The heavier marked snowys can be even harder to tell apart. I've never seen a spotted with the white body and colored head like theirs though. Usually the brown/tan runs together on the spotted and not completely separate like the snowys or silver apricots. Those can be hard to tell apart too but snowys usually tend to have black wing accents/tips where the apricot silver should have gray/blue accents

I found color charts!

Nope I didn't mist sassy, but I've tried using a hen but they die right at hatching time... So not sure what went wrong there.
