Call Ducks Finally Hatched

Speaking of bratty sassy. She went outside, I made her a huge pool even had to provide a step ladder for her to get in, she my first call ever who's actually used it. She with the teenager silkies. They are familiar with her so they all got along just fine. My room in clean and it doesn't smell, BONUS FOR ME....

Nope I didn't mist sassy, but I've tried using a hen but they die right at hatching time... So not sure what went wrong there.

I don't know. I wonder if they could still be misted under the broody. Or if maybe they could be taken and put into incubator for hatching. Or maybe the bedding could be wet down or a jar of water placed in the box to add humidity

That's so awesome. Glad she's finally seeing the joy in outside life... Even if it is with the chickens for now lol. Congrats.

I would go for putting in the incubator. I had to do that with some quail, the hen was broody but the others would kill them as soon as they hatched, so the next couple batches I took out a day before hatch date. Worked great. Would think it should work with ducks too?

Not sure but I remember when my one female that came up missing and I found her eggs, she would go swimming and then sit on those eggs and I mean they were steaming... LOL, so I'm thinking perhaps at hatching time, they need that humidity up and chickens can't raise it high enough??

I don't know you know me, always trying to find answers and solutions..

She PEEPED the whole time, Everytime I talked with the other chickens like my cochins 5 coops down, she's in there peeping. OMG, I kept checking on her. I felt like a mom that just drop her child off at school. LOL
