Calling all APA and/or ABA breeders!

The only well known d’Uccle breeder I’ve had a good experience with is Michele Sepiol of silver maple farms. She is the president of the Belgian d’Uccle and booted bantam club. You could also look up Dustin Sfreddo I believe his name is, I’ve not had a great experience with buying stock from him (mostly my own fault) but his birds are quality . You could try poultry show central.com as well because they have quite a few listings of reputable breeders. What variety does your son breed? I love d’Uccles, they have such personalities and are very personable and curious

Haha don’t worry about it.
This is my current problem, which is why I used a splash.
Yes, that is a blue.

Now the blues are a decent shade with lacing... but it’s a super uneven decent shade. Oh well, I love a challenge.
Blues are hard because of the lacing, and they’ll get this odd brown tint to them. I’ve got a hen with that and hopefully will not come out in a few of my chicks as the cock I put over her has no discoloring at all.

Yes, his is best known for his Black Rosecombs but has excellent Mille Fleur d'Uccles that have won best in show at some large shows. I believe he will ship.

Blessings,

Bo

Oh man I’ll have to look him up, I don’t breed Mille fleurs but I have a couple for show, I might like a couple more pullets though. Can’t wait for shows to open up again, especially this fall, I think I’ve got a couple good birds in my grow out pen, hopefully I’ve gotten rid of that pesky rust coloring.

Yeah, I understand that. I originally wasn’t going to have any quail d’Anvers, but it was frustrating having poor stock I couldn’t really show. And the quails I hatched were just so nice, and they lay so many eggs at great hatch rates! I was able to raise enough to sell hatching eggs, and I hope to sell my extra pullets and pairs as well.

You seem to have a great system going. I definitely struggle with the ability to sell any birds, which is silly of me but definitely necessary, but there’s absolutely no way I’d be culling any so that is the only choice. Not a huge fan of selling on eBay or Craig’s list because you never know who those cockerels or extra pullets are going to. I’d be most likely to bring extras to a show and sell them there.
