Can Diatomaceous Earth for Lice cause Sore Throat???

Think you can get them off Amazon
The question is, are they native to Ontario? Don't want to introduce non-native species as that can lead to infestations and environmental imbalances like what happened with the Chinese lady bugs, which are a pest that is out of control now. If it is safe, I'll consider that if we find red mites, so thank you for the suggestion. So far we have only seen lice, but even that seems to be resolved. Just more worried about my crowless rooster now.

Im sorry we’ve gotten so off track with your primary concern.
Yes, I think it would be safe to assume that inhaling fine particulate matter into the nose, throat, and lungs even through normal preening after exposure to DE would cause irritation.

Thank you! That's what I needed to know, as well as what I can do about it. Wait it out? It's he going to be ok? Will he get worse and need to be culled?

I would provide plenty of fresh water, remove the DE from his living quarters and wait it out.

If you powdered him with it profusely I’d try to fluff it off of him outdoors.
