I'll look into it! Thank you.Can you get Androlis predator mites? they predate other mites with no harm to chickens
The question is, are they native to Ontario? Don't want to introduce non-native species as that can lead to infestations and environmental imbalances like what happened with the Chinese lady bugs, which are a pest that is out of control now. If it is safe, I'll consider that if we find red mites, so thank you for the suggestion. So far we have only seen lice, but even that seems to be resolved. Just more worried about my crowless rooster now.Think you can get them off Amazon
Im sorry we’ve gotten so off track with your primary concern. The question is, are they native to Ontario? As my post explains, he stopped crowing after the DE treatment. Sounded like he has a sore throat. That's what the post is about.Totally get that, Crowless roo ?? How old is it ?
Thank you! That's what I needed to know, as well as what I can do about it. Wait it out? It's he going to be ok? Will he get worse and need to be culled?Im sorry we’ve gotten so off track with your primary concern.
Yes, I think it would be safe to assume that inhaling fine particulate matter into the nose, throat, and lungs even through normal preening after exposure to DE would cause irritation.
I would provide plenty of fresh water, remove the DE from his living quarters and wait it out.Thank you! That's what I needed to know, as well as what I can do about it. Wait it out? It's he going to be ok? Will he get worse and need to be culled?
