I'm having an emergency with my chicken in this thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/chicken-not-standing-long.1261205/

All I own is Nutri Drench, Vitamin B-12, Ivermectin Pour On, and a frozen leftover bottle of Naxcel given to me by a vet.

This chicken is interested in food, but barely eating it. I haven't seen him drink today either. I'm giving him 1ml of Nutri Drench by mouth daily + in his water. His condition is worsening, I don't know what else I can do.

Unfortunately, I work 7am to 7pm this week, so I miss the vets office by two hours.

I remember that the vet gave the Naxcel injection to my duck when he had symptoms of not being able to walk very well. Then I gave it to him every day for so many days.
Then recently I was given a bottle when my other chicken had a respiratory infection.

Since my 4 month old cockerel is going downhill as I speak, could it make the situation worse to inject him with Naxcel myself, without vet approval? The bottles states I can freeze it for later use, which I did.
Any and everything is appreciated, God bless you!

That's great info, thanks! Once or twice a day?

How is your chicken doing?
Once a day, my vet showed me how to do adult birds. He said to go right in the breast if There's meat there, but if the bird is skinny like in my cases, put the needle in off the side of the keel, angled away from the bone. It's the same for chickens and ducks. I don't know about other birds since all I own are ducks and chickens.

The little guy didn't make it overnight, I can't afford any more bills right now so unfortunately I had to opt out of a necropsy. I'm hoping he was an isolated case and not sick.
I'm so sad, he was my future breeding rooster and the first chick I ever hatched from my own stock.

Okay the chicken one says "Give 0.1mL per pound every 12 hours"
But the duck one is "Give 0.1mL per pound once daily"

Note, the duck bottle is about 3 years old, I'd follow the chicken instructions.
You can freeze the unused portion, but it doesn't say how long it's good for.
@casportpony sorry I had originally told you wrong, good thing I got the bottle out to double check.
